2019 Concert Series starts in March with Dave Young

It doesn’t get any better than this. Dave Young, the prominent jazz musician and Oscar Peterson’s favourite bassist, with William Sperandei on trumpet,  Andy Harasymczuk on guitar and Ethan Ardelli on drums, will open the season on Friday March 1, 2019, 7:30 pm at the L.E.Shore Library in Thornbury.

March 29 at the Marsh Street Centre Dean Hollin will celebrate the 100th birthday of Nat King Cole, highlighting the 50 year career of the amazing jazz vocalist with word and song as only he can.

Thornbury Jazzworks is delighted to welcome back the Noodle Factory Jazz Project at the Marsh Street Centre again on April 26. This exciting Little Big Band stretches the envelope from Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, Boss Brass to Blood, Sweat and Tears.

Back at the Library, the dazzling jazz violinist Drew Jurecka will remind us of jazz greats such as Stephane Grappelli and Joe Venuti on Friday May 24 .

The concert to end the Spring program is still a work in progress and most likely will be held on June 28 with a select group of artists under consideration.

THORNBURY JAZZWORKS presents the JAZZ AT THE LIBRARY  and JAZZ AT THE MARSH concerts to promote excellence in musical performance and use the proceeds to support music education programs in our local schools.
